Organised by Building Busselton Town Team and supported by the City of Busselton, this community-led celebration brought together over 500 people for an afternoon of local talent, festive cheer, and vibrant city activation.
Lights, Music, Magic
From 4pm to 7pm, Mitchell Park became a hub of holiday joy with:
Live performances by Sofia Watt, Leeuwin College of Performance, and DJ Sharky
A crowd-energising set by Zumba with Giselle
Appearances from the Busselton Repertory Club and roving Christmas characters
Free family portraits with local photographer Abby Murray
Santa and his sleigh adding sparkle to the street
The event saw families and kids showing off their most festive outfits — and ended with an all-ages community dance that kept everyone moving.
“We were thrilled with the turnout,” said BBTT President Lisa Massey.
“This is what community activation is all about — joy, connection, and creativity right in the heart of town.”
Big Impact, Zero Cost
Thanks to funding from the City of Busselton and the support of dozens of local volunteers, the event was 100% free for attendees — a welcome relief for families feeling the pressure of the festive season.

The event also highlighted the ongoing transformation of Mitchell Park as a central public space — reinforcing its value not just as a place to pass through, but as a destination to gather, celebrate, and belong.
